Work package 13

Molecular imaging of NF-kappaB activation and imaging chronic inflammation using optical probes

Nine DiMI partner institutions from six countries (Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands, and United Kingdom) are involved in the different research activities of this work package.

Leader of the WP is Harald Carlsen from the SME CGene (Oslo, Norway).

The main objectives for this project period (JPA5) are:

  • Study relations of NF-kB, dietary nutrients and ROS in inflammatory bowel’s disease

  • Establishing xenograft models for imaging cancer progression related to NF-kB and ROS

  • Validation of PBR markers for macrophages in atherosclerosis model
