Lund University, Lund, SwedenMedical Inflammation Research (MIR) at the Biomedical Center[Scientific staff | Publications within DiMI | References] Group DescriptionOur laboratory is specialized in studies of human disease models with a chronic inflammatory process such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis. MIR is a part of the Biomedical Center, which contains numerous research groups with expertise in immunology, tumor immunology, connective tissue research, molecular signaling, molecular biology and cell biology. The institute is well integrated with the benefit of having availability of methodology and expertise in many fields of biology. The institute is a part of the medical faculty of Lund University, the largest University in Scandinavia. MIR has a lab space of 850 m2 and an animal house with a space of 650 m2. The animal house contains 15000 mice and rats. A large number (>200) of unique mouse and rat strains are bred, genetically monitored and analyzed here. These are selected (appropriate genomes) or made (transgenics) specifically for studies on models for RA and other inflammatory diseases. [read more] |
