Group Description

Scientific focus of the Molecular Neuroimaging Group is in vivo (PET, animal PET) and in vitro (autoradiography, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization) imaging of neurotransmitter receptors. With regard to basic neuroscience, we investigate the distribution patterns and pharmacological properties of neurotransmitter receptors in the human brain and in brains of other species by means of multi-modal mapping techniques. Another research topic is the role of adenosine in the central nervous system with regard to its physiological role and its alterations in pathological conditions. [read more]
