Group Description

The research interests of the group lie mainly in the area of design and synthesis of new bifunctional chelators derived from azacycles with acetic and methylphosphonic/phosphinic acid pendants, study of their coordination ability toward transition metals and lanthanoids and comparison of the coordination ability between free chelator and the chelator bonded to the simple biomolecule. The laboratory has over 15 years experience in this field and also in sugar and peptide chemistry (Prof. Trnka). The group is well equipped with synthetic and analytical instrumentation.
